Blair Gets Exemption, Joins Finau at Utah Championship at Willow Creek
Two past Utah State Amateur champions, Tony Finau and Zac Blair, will be playing in the PGA Web.com Utah Championship next week at Willow Creek Country Club. Finau is a regular on the tour and currently stands in 24th place on the year’s money list, and the tournament committee granted an exemption to Blair yesterday.
Blair recently gained some national attention by winning a U.S. Open sectional qualifying and then turned that opportunity into making the cut and finishing in 40th place.
Finau was also a headliner that week, and finished fourth in the Web.com event. He attracted national headlines when he started the tournament with back-to-back eagles, a rarity in professional golf.
The Utah Championship will be held July 10-13.
