Rafe Johnston Coasts at Dinaland, Takes Home Medalist Honors

The field is almost set for the 116th Utah State Amamteur Championship.  The last regular qualifier was held this morning in the most northeastern golf course in the state.  Dinaland GC in Vernal.  With only 27 players signed up in the field, the number that would go through the the State Am would be less than any other qualifier.  In the end, only 9 would make it through. 
Rafe Johnston birdied the first four holes and coasted the rest of the way to easily win medalist honors with a 67 at the Dinaland Qualifying Thursday for the Utah State Amateur. The cut broke even at 77 with Kasey Edgehouse gaining the ninth and final spot.
Those who qualified for the finals at Ogden Golf and Country Club and Valley View were as follows:
