Forsman Only Utahn To Make Cut at PGA Senior Championship

At the PGA Senior Championship Dan Forsman is in a rare position at the halfway point. He is in seventh place, but only one shot off the lead. That’s right—six players share the lead at 138. Forsman was one shot off the lead after his first round of 66, but there was only player ahead of him. Now, after his second round of 73, there are six tied for the lead and another five just one shot back and yet another six just another shot back.  To add it all up there are 17 players within two shots of the lead.
Will someone please look in the record book? That must be one of the narrowest spreads in the history of tournament golf after 36 holes. Going down the scoreboard there are 42 players within six shots. The cut came at 147, just nine shots off the lead.
Forsman was the only one of a large contingent of Utah players to make the cut.
The leaders are:
138- Bart Bryant, Steen Tinnic, Colin Montgomerie, Bernhard Langer, Kyoshi Murota, Tom Watson
139- Dan Forsman (66-73); Steve Pate, Mark Brooks, Stephen Ames, Russ Cochran

Utahns missing the cut were:
148- Mike Reid, 75-73
149- Steve Schneiter, 73-76
153- Mike Malaska, 78-75
154- Bruce Summerhays, 74-80
154- Jimmy Blair, 76-78
