Johnson, Blair, Miller, Finau Advance to U.S. Open Sectional Stage

Alpine Country Club was the site of one of the state’s strongest fields of the year as the best players in the state, both professional and amateur, gathered for the local qualifying for the U.S. Open.
There were 79 players vying for just four spots and the winners were Zach Johnson, Zac Blair, Todd Miller, and Tony Finau. Johnson and Blair shot 68s and Miller and Finau shot 69s.
The two alternates are Clay Ogden and B.J. Staten who each shot 70.
Tony Finau is a full time player on the Tour and Zac Blair has been playing on the PGA Latin America Tour. Miller is the assistant coach at BYU and is the son of Johnny Miller. Johnson is a teaching professional at Davis Park.
