Passey, Pagel Conducting National Golf Seminar in SLC

The Utah Golf Association and the Utah Section of the PGA are the host associations for the final 2014 PGA-USGA National Rules Seminar at the Salt Lake City Marriott University Park Hotel beginning Saturday and concluding Tuesday. It is the last of 21 workshops that have been conducted throughout the country during the first three months of the year.
Approximately 90 rules officials from various sections of the country will be on hand for the three and a half day session and many of those in attendance will be from Utah and the intermountain area.  Registration for this workshop is closed but those interested in attending a 2015 USGA/PGA Rules Workshop may visit https://www.usga.org/rules/workshops/Rules-Of-Golf-Workshops/.aments.
Two former executive directors of the Utah Golf Association, Mark Passey and Thomas Pagel, will be coordinating and conducting the sessions in Salt Lake along with PGA instructor Brad Gregory. Passey is the USGA Director of Regional Affairs for nine states, and Pagel is the Senior Director of Rules of Golf and Amateur Status at the USGA.
The seminar includes a review of the 34 Rules of Golf and presentations on the Decisions on the Rules of Golf.
Presentations are done utilizing PowerPoint and include photographs, illustrations, animations and videos.
Almost all of the rules officials for the Utah Golf Association and the Utah Section PGA have attended these sessions in the past and many of them will be in attendance at these meetings.
