Summerhays Finishes in Top 30 at Northern Trust;  Blake Tops Utahns, But Not in Title Contentio

For the third day in a row Daniel Summerhays eagled his first hole of the day at the Northern Trust Open at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California. Those three eagles accounted for six under par and he played all the other holes at two over par which gave him a four under par 72-hole tally which was good enough for a top 30 finish.
He started his third round on the back nine and eagled the tenth hole. His other two eagles came on the first hole.
On the Champions Tour in Florida Jay Don Blake led the trio of Utahns in the tournament with a score of 70-74-73-217, but  he was never in title contention and finished in the middle of the pack. Mike Reid was two shots back of Blake with rounds of 71-73-75-219, and Dan Forsman shot 72-76-77-225.

Saturday, February 15, 2014 Summerhays Moves Up at Riviera With 66,  Blake, Reid in Middle of Pack in Florida
Daniel Summerhays started the third round of the Northern Trust Open at Riviera Country Club with an eagle and fired a six-under par 66 to move up the scoreboard to 29th place, eight shots off the lead going into the final round Sunday.
He started the second round with an eagle also, but he started the second round on the back nine, thus during the tournament has eagled both the first and tenth holes at Riviera. He stands at 71-72-66-209, four under par.
William McGirt, the leader at 12 under par, has posted 69-67-65-201 and holds a two shot lead over George McNeill and Charlie Beljan.
Meanwhile in Naples, Florida on the Champions Tour  Mike Reid and Jay Don Blake are even par but are in the middle of the pack in 31st place and Dan Forsman is four over par. Bernhard Langer and Kirk Triplett are leading with scores of ten under par.
