Champions Tour Qualifying Begins in Scottsdale, Concludes Friday; Three Utahns Competing

The final stage of the Champions Tour Q-School is underway at the TPC in Scottsdale. Dan Forsman and Jay Don Blake retained their tour cards by their good play this season. Mike Reid is back to Q-School this year. Jimmy Blair and Steve Schneiter are also in the field.
The field consists of 78 players playing a 72-hole no-cut tournament with the low five gaining full status on the tour. The next seven will gain conditional status and the those finishing in the top 30 will earn the right to pre-qualify at tour event sites.
Mike Reid leads the Utah contingent with an opening round 68 which put him in a tie for 20th. Jimmy Blair is tied for 49th with a 71, and Steve Schneitger shot 75 and is near the bottom of the field.
All players will play four rounds. There will be no cut.
