UGA Moves Four-Man Team Championship to Bloomington CC, October 19-20

The Utah Golf Association has announced that this year’s UGA Four-Man Team Championship will be held at Bloomington Country Club in St. George. It marks the first time in more than 20 years that the tournament has not been held at the Moab Golf Course.
The tournament will be held October 19th and 20th and deadline for the team entry will be Friday, October 11th. The field will include the first 30 teams to register. The entry fee is $440 per team and includes green fees, carts, range balls, and lunch on one of the days. The day of the lunch has not been determined yet. Merchandise certificates will also be awarded in each division.
“Moab is a wonderful golf course and has been a remarkable host for our tournament for all these many years, but we decided that it was appropriate to give other areas of the state an opportunity to host the event,” said UGA Executive Director Bill Walker.
“It is held at a time of year when weather can be a problem up north and so this year we are moving the event to the St. George area and Bloomington Country Club offered to host the event for us,” Walker added.
“This is not a permanent change of sites. We will certainly return to Moab in the future and may consider other sites as well,” Walker said.
There will be divisions for Men, Women, and Senior Men. The tournament will be 36-holes of stroke play with the low three 18-hole rounds per day counting to the team total in the men’s divisions, and one low gross score and two low net scores in the women’s division.
“We will start the tournament on Saturday at 12:30 with tee times on both number one and ten tees, and on Sunday the tee times will begin at 8 a.m., also off number one and ten tees,” Walker said.
The designated host hotel for the tournament is the Windgate by Wyndham. The room rate is $89 plus tax and the cutoff date for room reservations at that rate is September 18th.All UGA member clubs may be represented by a four person team in each of the following divisions; Men’s, Women’s and Senior Men’s (all members must be 50 years of age or older as of first day of competition). Two of the team members must be from the same club. Clubs may have more than one team, but must designate who is competing on which team when registering for the event.
The UGA 4-Man Team Championship is also a Tier 1 Player Performance Rankings event meaning it rewards with the most points and points are awarded to the top 20 finishers.
