Parkinson Leads Siegfried-Jensen Utah Open Going Into Final Round

Joe Parkinson won the Utah State Amateur title in 2010, went on a mission where Bruce Summerhays was the mission president, and now holds a slim one-shot lead going into the final round of the Siegfried-Jensen Utah Open.Only six golfers in Utah golf history have won both the Utah State Am and the Utah Open. They are C.E. Foley, Ed Kingsley, Joe Bernolfo, Bill Johnston, Jimmy Blair, Eric Hogg, and Bruce Summerhays.Parkinson has three seasoned pros breathing down his neck, but they won’t be worrying about him as much as they are each other. The $21,000 first place money is what will be foremost on their minds. Parkinson shot 66-66-132 and the three pros within one stroke are Zach Johnson, of Davis Park, Zahkai Brown, recent winner of the Colorado Open, and Arizona pro Jesse Mueller. There is another trio just two shots behind and so there will be some neck twisting to keep up with the scoreboard that will be changing with nearly every hole.Go to the following link for complete scores:https://utpga.bluegolf.com/bluegolf/utpga13/event/utpga1314/contest/1/leaderboard.htm
