Weir Makes Cut in Canada, Fielding Makes Cut in Boise

Mike Weir thrilled his fellow Canadians by shooting a second round 67 and making the cut at the Canadian Open Friday. He had an opening round of 73 for a two-day total of 140, beating the cut by three shots. He stands in 26th place going into the weekend.
Daniel Summerhays, who has had back-to-back high finishes, missed the cut by one shot with rounds of 70-74-144.
The tournament is being played at Glen Abbey in Oakville, Ontario.
Jay Don Blake missed the cut at the British Senior Open being played at Royal Birkdale. He shot a second round of 80 that put him three shots over the cut line.
On the Tour, being played at Boise, Idaho’s Hillcrest Country Club, Utah’s Dusty Fielding shot a second round 63 and stands in 38th place after an opening round of 71.
For the second straight event a player shot a 59. This time it was by Russell Knox and he leads the event by just one shot at 69-59-128.
