Raber Wins PCA, Blair Finishes Ninth With Final Round 67
Tyler Raber’s splendid opening round of 63 at the Pacific Coast Amateur Championship at Capilano Golf Course in Vancouver, British Columbia, got progressively higher each day, but not enough so that the field could catch him and didn’t reach as high as par until the final round. His four round total, 63-67-70-72-127, was good for a comfortable three shot victory.
Utah’s Zac Blair, who played the first round of the tournament with a rental set of clubs because of baggage trouble with the airline, finished with a strong final round of 67 and climbed to a tie for ninth in the individual standings. His scores were 73-69-72-67-281.
Two other Utahns competed in the tournament. Dan Horner shot 77-75-71-74-297 and finished 60th. Jeff Jolley shot 75-70-81-78-304 and finished 69th.
