Box Elder Wins Girls 4A Prep Golf Championship
Box Elder, with three girls finishing in the top ten, won the Class 4A Utah High School Golf Championship Wednesday at the Barn by 12 points over runnerup Bonneville. McCall Uyematsu led the Bees to the title with a medalist score of 83 Stableford points.
The Modified Stableford scoring system is used in high school girl’s golf. That system gives six points for birdies, five points for par, four points for bogeys, three points for double bogeys, two points for triple bogeys, and one point for quadruple bogey, after which the player can to pick up their ball without finishing a hole.
