Utes Finish Last in PAC-12 Golf Championship at Los Angeles Country Club

The University of Utah got off to a good start in the PAC-12 golf championship, but posted no good scores the last two days and finished in last place, 15 shots behind 11th place Washington State and 107 shots behind the title winning California Bears. The tournament was held at the prestigious Los Angeles Country Club and for the Utes getting acquainted with the course was not a good thing. They shot their best round the first day and it was downhill each day after that.Brandon Kida was the best performer for Utah but all of the Utes were within nine shots of each other for the four days. Kida opened with en even par 72 and fell off that good standard by an additional two shots each successive day, posting 72-74-76-78-300. Daniel Engle opened the tournament with an impressive five under par 67, but that deteriorated daily with scores of 74-80-81-302. Ben Bankhead had all four rounds in the 70s with 76-72-77-79-304. Jonathon Thomas and Gentry Hicks finished at 308 and Casey Halliday was at 309.
