Southern Utah Takes One Shot Lead in American Sky Conference Championship

Led by Taylor Schone’s second round 69 Southern Utah University moved to the top of the team leaderboard Tuesday in the American Sky Conference championship being played at the Dominion Country Club in San Antonio, Texas.
SUU’s lead is only a slim one stroke ahead of Houston Baptist and Utah Valley University is in fifth place but only eight shots off the lead. Weber State moved up to ninth place on the strength of two strong performances by Jordan Herzog who is just one shot off the lead on the individual leaderboard. He shot 72-70-142.
Brayden Erickson of Utah Valley was the first round leader with a 68, but his second round 78 dropped him out of the top ten. The individual leader is Bryce Edmister of Binghampton who shot rounds of 70-71-141.
The crowd at the top of the leaderboard in both individual and team categories will make for a topsy-turvy final round tomorrow. There are five teams within eight shots of the lead.
