Cougars Take Big Lead at Cougar Classic

BYU holds a big lead going into the Saturday’s final round of the Cougar Classic at Riverside Country Club. The Cougars took a big step toward defending their title by taking a 12-shot lead over second place Air Force Academy after 36-holes.
Two former Utah State Amateur champions led the way for the Cougars. Zac Blair shot rounds of 66-68-134, ten under par, and Joe Parkinson is just one shot behind with rounds of 70-65-135.
Kyle Westmoreland of the Air Force Academy is also at 135 with rounds of 69-66. Medalist honors will likely accrue to one of those three players as the nearest to them is five shots back with just one round to play.
Southern Utah University leads the other Utah teams in the tournament, but Utah State and Weber State are within seven shots of SUU.
