In Tight Competition St. Mary’s Takes WCC Men’s Golf Title; BYU Third

Only eight strokes separated the top five teams in the highly competitive West Coast Conference men’s golf championship held Monday through Wednesday at the Gold Mountain Golf Course in Bremerton, Washington.
St. Mary’s emerged from the tight competition as the winner by two strokes over San Francisco and BYU, San Diego, and Gonzaga all tied for third just eight strokes back of St. Mary’s.
That is about as tight a competition as you will see in a collegiate golf tournament. The spread is miniscule when you consider all the strokes taken during the event.
