UGA P.J. Boatwright Interns

Two new interns have joined the UGA staff for this golf season and are both on the job and preparing for the season. The interns are funded through the United States Golf Association P.J. Boatwright Jr. Internship program which supports state and regional golf associations throughout the country. Ryan Baade (pronounced Bay-dee) has been assigned to assist with the men’s tournament program and Jordan Murray will be assisting with the women’s events. Along with their assistance in administering UGA Championships they will also gain experience in the USGA Course Rating and
Handicapping systems during their stay with the UGA.
Baade hails from Iowa and is a recent cum laude graduate of Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa where he also played on the basketball team and was a student assistant coach. He also had a good experience performing daily assigned duties at the 2012 Ryder Cup held at Medinah Country Club in Illinois. He was also an intern at the Marion Parks and Recreation Department. “I’m living in Taylorsville and looking forward to working with the UGA,” Baade said. Jordan Murray is from Pocatello, Idaho, but has already experienced golf in Utah by working in the pro shops at Alpine Country Club and Riverside Country Club. He has also worked at Edwin Watts Uinta Golf and is a certified club fitting specialist. He played on a golf scholarship at Utah Valley State College in the 2003-2004 season. He graduated from Century High School in Pocatello in 2003 and won several golf events in the Gem State. He lives in Fruit Heights and “loves golf and is excited to have the opportunity to work with the Utah Golf Association”.
“We are pleased to have Ryan and Jordan join our staff,” said Bill Walker, UGA Executive Director. “They are both knowledgeable and energetic and will be important to the growth of our association this season,”.
