St. George, UT (March 4, 2013)-The NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Committee has selected St. George, Utah as the site for the 2015 West Regional. Hosted by BYU, it will be played at Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club May 7 – 9, 2015. The NCAA Division I Women’s Golf competition involves the top 72 college teams from across the US with tournament play in the central, east and western regions leading up to the national championship. Each region has 24 college teams with individual and team competition playing three rounds each day in morning and afternoon waves. In 2007 BYU hosted this tournament in St. George at Entrada, and according to Matt Nix, BYU Assistant Athletic Director, “We had teams competing from all over the US including Hawaii, UC Berkeley, Oklahoma State, UNLV, Florida, Nebraska, Memphis and Columbia and expect the field in 2015 to be as wide spread.” “We will be honored to have these NCAA student-athletes compete at Entrada,” said Greg Kinney, general manager of Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club, “to continue our tradition of supporting collegiate women’s golf.” The 10th anniversary of the BYU at Entrada Classic will be held March 18 -19, 2013 with 15 teams in competition. Entrada’s Johnny Miller Signature Golf Course, rated Utah’s best year-round golf course by Golf Digest, will be the site of the 54-hole championship. For the BYU at Entrada Classic, the college women will play the course at 6,154 yards, par 72. Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club is a private club for members with elegant home sites, leisure activities, and The Inn at Entrada centered around the Johnny Miller Signature Golf Course. Managed by Troon Golf, Entrada’s course offers a challenging round of golf that weaves through southern Utah’s majestic scenic beauty against a backdrop of red sandstone cliffs, rolling dunes and black lava beds. Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club is located in St. George, Utah, 119 miles (192 km) northeast of Las Vegas, NV, and 303 miles (488 km) south of Salt Lake City on Interstate 15, and is within easy day-trip distance to some of the nation’s most stunning natural attractions: Zion and Bryce Canyon national parks, Grand-Staircase Escalante and Cedar Breaks national monuments, Lake Powell and the Grand Canyon.
