UGA Annual Meeting Set October 30th at Hidden Valley

The Annual Meeting of the Utah Golf Association will be held Tuesday, October 30th, at Hidden Valley Country Club, and Judy Allem, President of the UGA , urges all clubs to have representatives at the meeting.
“This is a time when we give recognition to those who have been serving us, give awards to our outstanding performers, and approve new board members to manage the affairs of the UGA,” she said. “It’s important for our clubs to be here on this once a year occasion.”
The meeting will end nine years of service on the board for Allem, who is a member at Hidden Valley Country Club. Also leaving the board after nine years will be Dave Dorton, of Alpine Country Club, and Bill Probst, of Soldier Hollow and Wasatch Mountain.
Three UGA members have been nominated to fill the board vacancies. Those nominated are Amy Mayberry of Bountiful Ridge, Randy Hadfield of Alpine Country Club, and Stewart Walz of Hidden Valley Country Club.
Other current board members are John Taylor and Kim Anderson of East Bay, Steve Brinton and Kurt Bernhisel of The Country Club, Reese Nielsen of Eagle Mountain, Karen White of Ogden Golf and Country Club, Jim Kane of Coral Canyon, Jim Harland of Murray Parkway, and Denise Vilven of Golf in the Round.
The highlight of the evening is the presentation of the UGA Gold Club which goes annually to an individual who through significant achievement or unselfish service has contributed to the history and tradition of the game of golf in Utah, and whose personal integrity, sportsmanship, common courtesy, loyalty, and friendship earn him the love and respect of his fellow golfers.
Other awards to be presented include the annual UGA Player of the Year Awards, and this year, for the first time, a Women’s Player of the Year will be added to the list of honorees.
The recipients of the awards will be announced in advance of the meeting.
Trophies for some of the major UGA events will also be re-presented to the champions of those events. Winners of the UGA team competitions will also be recognized.
Cost of the dinner is $25 per person and RSVPs must be made at the UGA office by Thursday, October 25th. The dinner meeting begins at 7:00 p.m. and there will be a social half-hour beginning at 6:30 p.m. Dress is coats for men and dressy casual for women.
