Park City Wins 3A for Fifth Straight Prep Title
Park City won its fifth straight 3A Utah High School golf championship Thursday by a comfortable 12 stroke margin over runnerup Union. The tournament was held at the Roosevelt Golf Course. Pine View finished third, but trailed the winner by 44 shots.
Park City held a 16 shot lead after the first round, but Union, on the good final day play of Dakota Denver (70) and Kaden McDonald (71), closed it to a 12 stroke spread.
Justin Shluker led the victory for Park City and was the tournament medalist with steady rounds of 73-73-146, just one shot ahead of three players, McDonald and Denver and Juab’s Dalton Jackson.
The first day of the tournament was played in difficult weather conditions, and nine of the ten teams improved their scores the second day.
