Three Utahns, Gaiotti, Horner, Casper Advance to Match Play in USGA Championships

 
Three Utahns advanced to match play in USGA National Championships Sunday.
 
Annette Gaiotti, of Hidden Valley Country Club, shot rounds of 77-84-161 and is the 31st seed in the USGA Women’s Senior Amateur. She plays Therese Quinn of Jacksonville, Florida in the first round. Martha Scott, also of Hidden Valley, missed the cut.
 
Dan Horner and Mason Casper, advanced to match play in the USGA Mid-Amateur Championship being held at Conway Farms in Lake Forest, Illinois. Horner shot 75-71-146 and Casper shot 72-75-147.  Kirk Siddens and Eric Rustand failed to make the cut.
 
Horner is the 23rd seed and Casper the 31st seed and they are in the same bracket. Horner faces Kevin Marsh of Henderson, Nevada and Casper meets Jason Higton of Fresno, California.
 
If Horner and Casper each with their first two matches they would face each other in the quarterfinals.
