Greg Wojtkun Wins Mid-Am Title by Eight Shots

Greg Wojtkun. Wow! He left no doubt in easily winning the UGA Mid-Am Championship Saturday at Victory Ranch by eight shots, which is probably the biggest margin of victory in the history of the tournament. Some research will need to be done to determine that.
Wojtkun fired a final round 69, the only score in the 60s during all three days of the tournament. He finished three under par for the tournament and Darrin Oveson finished in second place at five over par. Wojtkun won the title despite two triple bogeys and one double bogey during the 54-hole tournament, but he also had 16 birdies and one eagle, the eagle coming on the final day on hole 16.
Jon Wright, the reigning Utah State Am champion, finished third, but won the Masters title at 223 on rounds of 74-76-73. Corey Matthews was second in the Masters Division, seven shots behind Wright.
Victory Ranch, one of Utah’s finest courses, always plays tough, and windy conditions during much of the tournament blew the scores higher than expected.
