Drost, Timmons, Horner Earn Spots in First USGA National Championship to be Played in Utah

Nick Drost, T.J. Timmons, and Dan Horner will represent Utah in the USGA National Public Links Championship which is the first USGA national championship to ever be held in Utah.
 
Drost, the recent winner of the Salt Lake City Amateur, earned medalist honors in a 36-hole qualifying round at Glen Eagle Wednesday with solid rounds of 66-68-134. Timmons was close behind with rounds of 67-69-136.
 
Dan Horner, former Utah State Amateur champion, edged Kyle Chappell in a playoff for the third qualifying spot. Horner shot 66-72-138 and Chappell shot 70-68-138 and became the first alternate. Clay Bingham is the second alternate.
