Adam Jasperson Named Head Pro at Sand Hollow

Adam Jasperson must feel like he’s died and gone to heaven.

He started playing golf seven years ago at the age of 28, started picking up range balls in exchange for playing privileges at Sand Hollow four years ago, turned professional two years ago, and is now—-drum roll—-the new head pro at Sand Hollow Golf Course, one of the best golf courses in Utah.

The position became open this past month when Sand Hollow head professional Colby Cowan accepted the position of Director of Golf for St. George City. Jasperson was serving as the assistant professional and the management team promoted him to the head position.

Jasperson was born August 15, 1977 in Norfolk, Nebraska, but grew up in Seattle, Washington and graduated from Lake Washington High School. He went to work in the construction industry as a diesel mechanic, went on an LDS Mission to Nashville, Tennessee, married Mary Kathyrn Meredith in 2002, and they now have four daughters and a son. They moved to St. George in 2003 where he was in the decorative concrete construction business until times got tough and jobs became scarce.

He started playing golf in 2005, began picking up range balls at Sand Hollow in return for playing privileges, started working part time in the golf shop in 2009 and later that year became full time. In September of 2010 he officially started his PGA schooling and became an assistant pro for Myatt Green and then Colby Cowan.

“I am very excited and look forward of the opportunity to bring my own flare to the Pro Shop and to be creative in the current economic climate. Our every intention is to create a memorable golfing experience for our guests,” Jasperson said.

“I want each and every golfer to enjoy our player services as much as they enjoy our golf course. There are a lot of golfing options in Southern Utah and I want to make sure that we are at the top of everyone’s playing list. With the help of our staff and our management, I’m confident that we deliver a world-class experience here at Sand Hollow,” he said.

The new assistant professional for Jasperson is Lindsey Stucki who is in the middle of her LPGA training program.

Sand Hollow is owned by private investors. Jacob Bracken is President of Sand Hollow Development. The General Manager is William Wilkey, the son of one of the primary owners, David Wilkey.

Sand Hollow was designed by John Fought, opened in 2007, and just opened the new clubhouse this spring.
