Fielding Flirts With Title, But Finishes Fifth; Finau Eighth

Dusty Fielding flirted with winning his first professional tournament on Golfworld’s National Pro Golf Tour, but in the end a final round 73 dropped him into a fifth place tie at the Florida Open with a ten under par total on rounds of 70-65-70-73-278. His strong 65 in the second round put him contention, but one good round isn’t enough in a 72-hole tourney.
He couldn’t keep up with the strong finishing rounds of 66 by Tyler Weworski and 67 by Cyril Bouniol who tied for first place at 15 under par. Bouniol won the playoff.
Fielding was hoping to make it three titles in a row for a Utahn on the NPG Tour. Fellow Utahn Tony Finau won the two previous events and although he got off to a slow start this week he finished in a tie for eighth, four shots behind Fielding.
Dustin Pimm finished in 26th place and Clay Ogden finished in 31st place.
Utah scores were as follows:
5th- Dusty Fielding, 70-75-70-73-278
8th- Tony Finau, 72-71-69-70-282
26th- Dustin Pimm, 77-69-69-71-286
31st- Clay Ogden, 72-69-75-71-287
