The Annual “Babe” Tournament Set At Hidden Valley June 5th
The Babe, the annual golf tournament designed to raise funds for the cure and prevention of cancer, will be held June 5th at Hidden Valley Country Club.
The fee for entering the tournament this year is $1000 per team ($250 per person). Entries can be made through Judy Allem at 580-2796, or Clea Rasmussen at 272-0403.
Hole sponsorships are also available at anywhere from $100 to $1000.
Another way to support the cause is to make a $25 donation to purchase a personalized flag that will be displayed during the tournament in tribute of a loved one who has suffered from cancer.
“For those who can’t find the time to play in the tournament the purchase of a tribute flag is a wonderful way of participating in the fund raising effort,” Rasmussen said.
‘Seeing all those tribute flags is both inspiring and frightening and makes one feel good about donating to such an important cause,” she added.
All funds raised go to the American Cancer Society and are spent locally in the effort to cure this devastating disease. Over the years the tournament has raised more than $70,000 to support the research cause.
The tournament is named after Babe Zaharias, one of the greatest woman golfers of all time. She died of colon cancer.
