Summerhays Tied for First at Halfway Point in Mexico

Daniel Summerhays vaulted into a tie for first place at the halfway point of the Mayakoba Golf Classic in Mexico with the best round of the day, a six under par score with seven birdies and one bogey. He was in 16th place to start the day.
 
Will Claxton (66-68) and Greg Owen (67-67) share the lead with Summerhays (69-65) at eight under par 134. First place price money is $666,000 and the total purse is $3.7m.

Summerhays had four birdies and a bogey on the front and three birdies on the back.
 
The tournament continues Saturday and Sunday at El Cameleon Golf Course in Riviera Maya, Mexico and is televised on the Golf Channel on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. and on Sunday at 5 p.m. Mountain Time.
