Q-School Reaches Final Round; Summerhays in Good Position, Wilson Needs Great Round

Two former BYU Cougars went different directions in the fifth round of the PGA Tour Qualifying event. Daniel Summerhays shot four under par and gave himself some breathing room going into the final round while Dean Wilson shot four over par, his worst round of the qualifying, and dug himself a deep hole.

Summerhays moved up to 13th place in a tournament that crowns the low 25 with their PGA Tour cards. His five day total of 351 gives him a two-shot cushion from the projected cutline which is seven under par, 353. He started his day with seven straight pars and finished the front side, one under. He added four birdies coming home, but bogeyed the final hole for his 68.

Wilson had a birdieless day and carded four bogeys along the way for his 76. He now stands at 358, and faces a five-shot deficit from the cutline going into the final round.
