Chris Richards Fills Intern Position at UGA
Chris Richards, 24, has been hired at the Utah Golf Association to fill the final three months of the USGA Internship that became open when intern Mike Branca was hired to be the full time Director of Rules and Competitions.
Chris graduated from Highland High School in 2005 and is only 12 credit hours away from a B.S. degree in Parks and Recreation at the University of Utah. While attending school he has been working as a starter at the Bonneville Golf Course under the direction of head pro Steve Elliott for the past five years. He is the son of Mike Richards, head professional at West Ridge Golf Course.
His long term goal is to stay involved in golf in some capacity as a golf professional, teacher, or administrator.
Bill Walker, UGA Executive Director, said, “We are really pleased to have Chris on staff, and hopefully something can be worked out to keep him longer than the three month internship. In just a few short weeks he has become a valuable member of our team.”
