Blair Dominates Tournament of Champions, Poulson Wins Three Titles

Zac Blair won the UGA Tournament of Champions at Wolf Creek Resort by a comfortable six stroke margin and Steve Poulson won the senior title by three shots. Blair and Poulson were each last year’s UGA Players of the Year in their categories, and could well receive the honors again this year.
Blair’s final round started off in remarkable fashion. He birdied one and two, parred three, and aced four and birdied five to be five under par after five holes. He finished with a 32 on the front as he bogeyed eight. He had a double bogey on the 17th hole to slip to even par on the back nine.
In addition to winning the senior title Poulson also won the Men’s Club Champions Division and the Senior Club Champions Division. Sally Bills won the Women’s Club Champions Division, but there were only two entries in the field.
Blair shot back-to-back rounds of 68 for an eight under par finish of 136. Poulson was second overall with back-to-back scores of 71 for a two under par 142. Nick Drost was in third place at 70-73-143 and was the only other player to break par for the two days.
David Cannon finished second among the seniors with rounds of 73-72-145, just three shots behind Poulson and good for a fifth place overall finish.
