Three Utahns Could Make Match Play in USGA Senior Championships

Three Utah golfers participating in USGA national championships this week are all in position to advance to match play.
Annette Giaotti is in 36th place after the first round of the USGA Women’s Senior Amateur and is in good position to advance to match play that includes the low 64. She shot 79 at The Honors Course in Chattanooga, Tennessee and the 64th place shot 82.
In the USGA Men’s Senior Amateur Steve Poulson is in 21st place with a 73 and David Cannon is in 61st place along with 14 others, He will need to improve a stroke or two to make the cut. The tournament is being played at Kinloch Golf Club in Virginia. Armen Dirtadian, of Arizona, also shot 77. He has played often in the Utah-Arizona Shootout.
