Zac Blair Ties for Sunnehanna Amateur, Loses in Playoff
Zac Blair lost in a three-way playoff to finish second in the Sunnehanna Amateur, one of the nation’s top amateur tournaments held annually in Johnstown, Pennsylvania.
Nathan Smith of Pittsburg won the playoff, defeating Blair and Lee Bedford of Cary, North Carolina in a four-hole playoff. Smith was one under par for the four holes playoff.
Smith, who has played in the tournament many years, shot rounds of 68-68-70-66-272. Accepting the trophy he noted that he is probably the only person to finish both last and first in the tournament record book.
Blair shot eight under par in the four rounds, 71-67-66-68-272.
To show how big this tournament is it is interesting to note that ten different states were represented in the top ten finishers.
