Cole Ogden Wins Medalist Honors in State Am Qualifying at Glen Eagle

Cole Ogden shot five under par 67 to claim medalist in the first qualifying round of the 113th Utah State Amateur Tuesday at Glen Eagle Golf Course in Syracuse. Qualifying rounds will continue for the next two weeks in determining the field for the finals of the State Am in July at Soldier Hollow.

At Glen Eagle there were 30 who qualified with 78s or better. Troy Miya also shot a 78, but was not present for the necessary playoff and so he becomes the first alternate. Nathan Archibald won a playoff for the second alternate position.

The rules for alternates making the finals are posted on the UGA web page under Utah State Am Rules and Regulations.

Matt Wahlen finished second with a 69 and there were five other golfers who shot one under par 71, Jonathon Thomas, Peyton Hastings, Devon Purser, Patrick Fishburn, and Davis Garner.
