1.
Home school/coach will act as tournament director. Responsibilities
include payment of green fees for tournament. Organization of
rules clinic and volunteers.
2. Region meets will be scored as follows: 1st-7 points, 2nd-6
points, 3rd-5 points, 4th-4 points, 5th-3 points, 6th-2 points,
7th-1 point, 8th-0 Points will be doubled for the final region
tournament. ½ points will be awarded for ties and ties for region
championship and state tournament qualification will be broken
by a team sudden death playoff. Coaches will choose a 3-woman
team.
3. Each player is required to have a score card and will exchange
card in a circle on the first tee.
4. Each team will consist of 4 players of which top 3 scores will
count.
5. No caddies will be allowed at any meets.
6. Appropriate golf attire is required at all meets.
7. Play will be from the red tees.
8. Meets will be shotgun starts unless otherwise designated.
9. In case of darkness or inclement weather, coaches will use
judgment and USGA rules govern procedures. If 50% of field has
completed the round, resume at earliest convenience. If less than
50% has finished, round will be postponed or cancelled until a
suitable time.
10. An all-region team will be selected based on point accumulation.
The top 8 players and ties in each meet will be awarded individual
points to be accumulated as follows: 1st-8, 2nd-7,3rd-6,4th-5,5th-4,6th-3,
7th-2, 8th-1
11. A region trophy will be awarded to the Region Champion Team.
Eight medals will be awarded to the region low medalists and all-region
team.
12. Starting times will be by the rule of golf and state meet
rules. 2-strokes for 5 minutes, later than 5 minutes disqualification
13. Play will be governed by USGA rules, stroke play and local
course rules, proper golf conduct and etiquette
14. Checking of score cards will be done by region coaches only
15. Any controversy over rules interpretation will be reported
to the region golf chairman (Justin Nelson, Syracuse High School.)
The problem will be discussed privately among coaches, region
rules committee, and the attending golf professional. The region
chairman will ensure a golf pro is in attendance to assist in
rulings. Decisions made will be final.
Schedule- 8 nine hole tournaments, 1 eighteen hole region championship
tournament.
When possible, tournaments will be held on Thursdays, begin with
a rules clinic at 1:30 and play will start at 2:30 unless changed
by the host course.
