Hole #36 (hole 18) Nelson Wins 1Up: Both players had perfect drives that ended about 80 yard from the green in the fairway. Clark hit a great approach into the green that ended about 10 feet from the hole. Nelson hit is approach to about 11 feet from the hole. Nelson just missed his 11 foot putt opening the door for Clark to send this match to a playoff. Clark took his time measuring this putt. He made a great putt that just missed the hole on the high side, giving Nelson the 2007 Utah State Am title. After the match they hugged at the center green acknowledging the great competition of this wonderful championship. Both players played like champions today. ** Interesting side note: The last time the Utah State Am was held at Thanksgiving Point GC the final match also ended on the 36th hole with Tommy Sharp besting Carl Jenson 1Up.

Hole #35 (hole 17) Nelson 1Up: This hole is playing from the tips which is a par 3 of 250 yards. Nelson hit a good shot to the right of the green (flag is left) and it is about 60 feet away. Clark hits his shot just short of the middle of the green and ends up 30 feet from the hole. If Clarks ball had released a little bit more it might have taken the slope and ended very close to the hole. Nelson made a great two putt for par and Clark just missed his birdie putt to settle for par.

Hole #34 (hole 16) Nelson 1Up: Nelson hits a great drive right down the middle of the fairway. Clark takes his drive down the left side and ends up in the left of the fairway in the rough. Nelson hits his approach shot 50-60 feet to the left of the hole, which is cut on the far right of the green, but he is still on the green. Clark hits a spectacular approach shot that ends 6 feet from the hole. Clark just misses his birdie putt and is conceded his par putt. Nelson's first putt is very difficult and ends up about 10 feet away from the hole. He then misses his par putt and Clark wins the hole.

Hole #33 (hole 15) Nelson 2Up: This uphill 210 yard par 3 has is playing very difficult today. Nelson's hit his tee shot to 15 feet of the hole while Clark missed his tee shot and wound up 30 yards short of the green leaving himself with a delicate chip shot. He made a great chip to 4 feet away. Nelson just missed his birdie putt and pared the hole. Clark then had a difficult 4 footer to stay in this match. He made it to tie the hole.

Hole #32 (hole 14) Nelson 2Up: Both players had big drives to the middle of the fairway. From 250 yards out, Nelson is trying to eagle this hole for the 2nd time today. He hit his shot to 18 feet from the hole. Clark then missed the green short and on the right side. Having an uphill lie in the rough, Clark chipped 6 feet short of the hole. Nelson just missed his eagle putt and the ball seemed to not stop rolling until it ended 5 feet past the hole. Clark missed his putt by an inch and scored a par on the hole. Nelson then made his 5 foot putt for birdie and won the hole.

Hole #31 (hole 13) Nelson 1Up: Clark drives to the left side of the fairway out about 100 yards. Nelson again cuts off more then Clark and ends in the right bunker next to the river. Nelson's 2nd shot over is hit thin and ends up over the green into the river. Clark hits his approach to the right side of the green in the fringe about 40 feet away from the hole. After taking a drop behind the green, Nelson chipped past the hole (located on the back of the green) ending up on the front of the green about 60 feet away from the hole. Clark then chipped to 4 feet where his par putt was conceded and won the hole.

Hole #30 (hole 12) Nelson 2Up: Both players make great drives to the fairway, 150 yards away for Nelson and Clark is 120. Nelson has had a penchant for hitting his tee ball into the water on this tee shot through out the tournament. Both players hit fine shots onto the green to within 7 feet. Both players then made their birdie putts.

Hole #29 (hole 11) Nelson 2Up: Clark matched Nelson's great fairway drive with one of his own. Using fairway woods for the first time today each player hits a lay-up shot to about 80 yards to the green. Clark hits a good approach shot that land just a feet inches too far up on the upper tear of this green and it does not back up down to the hole (which is on the front of the green). He left himself a fast 20 foot downhill putt. Nelson hits his approach shot just short of the hole where it checks up and ends 8 feet away. Clark then hits his birdie putt passed the hole by 8 feet, he then misses is par putt and ends with a bogey. Nelson then two putts for par.

Hole #28 (hole 10) Nelson 1Up: Clarks drive found the rough on the left while Nelson's found the fairway. Clark hits a great approach shot ending 15' below the hole. Nelson hits a fantastic approach shot to within 5 feet of the hole. Clark two putts and scores a par on the hole. Nelson sinks his birdie put to make it two in a row and he goes 1Up.

Hole #27 (hole 9) All Square: Clark's drive caught the rough on the right side of the fairway. Nelson's drive ended in the fairway about the same distance as Clark, about 130 yards. Clark hit a nice little draw to this hole that ended up 10 feet away for birdie. Nelson then hit a similar shot that just cleared the sand bunker, fronting this green, ending on the fringe, about 12 feet away. Nelson then made a great putt for birdie. Clark just missed his birdie putt. Nelson wins the hole.

Hole #26 (hole 8) Clark 1Up: Both players cut the corner and Clark's drive ended a foot into the rough on the right and Nelson's shot ended about 5 feet into the short rough on the right. Clark ended up out about 100 yards out with Nelson 70 yards out. Nelson hit his approach shot 7 feet from the hole, Clark's approach went past the hole 20 feet. Both players missed their putts and scored a par on the hole.

Hole #25 (hole 7) Clark 1Up: Clark hit a great approach shot that rolled by the hole and ended 2 feet away for birdie. Nelson was short of the green and in the rough. Nelson's chip ended 4 feet past the hole and he conceded Clark's birdie putt.

Hole #24 (hole 6) All Square: Clark drives to the middle of the fairway 20 yards ahead of Nelson who is in the left rough. Nelson's approach shot ended in the left of the green in the rough. Clark's approach ended on the green 15 feet from the hole. Clark made his putt for birdie and wins the hole.

Hole #23 (hole 5) Nelson 1Up: Nelson's drive has a bit of a hook and ends up left and in the rough. Clark hits a great drive that bounces down this fairway and ends up about 75 yards ahead of Nelson. Both players hit lay-up shots short of the green in good shape. Nelson hits his next shot onto the green about 20 feet from the hole. Clark hits a similar shot to about 18 feet. Nelson misses his birdie putt and Clark makes his birdie putt to win the hole.

Hole #22 (hole 4) Nelson 2Up: Both players hit great shots onto this green. Clark is 12 feet from the hole and Nelson is 20 feet from the hole. Both just miss birdie putts and settle for par.

Hole #21 (hole 3) Nelson 2Up: Nelson decides to hit a lay-up shot on this hole. He is in the fairway out about 120 yards. Clark hits a spectacular drive that lands on the front edge of the green and just misses the hole as it rolled past it. It ends on the back fringe of the green about 14 feet from the hole. Nelson then hits his approach shot on the green and two putts for par. Clark then just misses his eagle putt and makes birdie on the hole to win the hole.

Hole #20 (hole 2) Nelson 3Up: Both players hit their drives long but into the right rough. They both laid up leaving themselves 80 yards out. Each made good approach shots but then two putted for pars.

Hole #19 (hole 1) Nelson 3Up: Both drives are in the fairway, Clark then hits his approach shot onto the green about 15 feet from the hole and Nelson is about 5 feet from the hole. Clark leaves his birdie putt on the edge, and scores a par. Nelson sunk his putt for a birdie to go three up.

Hole #18 (hole 18) Nelson 2Up: Both players have perfect drives to the middle of the fairway. Each hit their approach shots onto the green and 2 putt for par.

Hole #17 (hole 17) Nelson 2Up: Nelson hit his shot to the 18 feet to the right of the flag. Clark hit his on the front edge of the green, about 50 feet from the hole. Nelson just misses his birdie putt and his par putt is conceded. Clark makes a great two putt for par.

Hole #16 (hole 16) Nelson 2Up: Clark drives to the middle of the fairway. Nelson from the right rough puts his 2nd shot 8 feet from the hole. Clark hits from 120 and is about 8 feet from the hole. Clark misses first putt and has a gimme for par. Nelson birdies and is now 2 up.

Hole #15 (hole 15) Nelson 1Up: Both players hit good shots to the green leaving putts between 20-30 feet. Both two putt for par.

Hole #14 (hole 14) Nelson 1Up: Clark hits a big drive that ends up 5 feet into the left rough, leaving himself around 250 yards to the green. Nelson hits a great drive to the middle of the fairway that rolls to 190 yards to the green. Clark's approach shot ends up in the bunker short of the green. Nelson hits a great shot from 190 out and hits the middle of the green, and it rolls to about 4 feet from the hole for Eagle. Clark out of the bunker about 15 feet to the hole, Clark's putt burns the edge of the hole and misses. Nelson's eagle putt is conceded by Clark.

Hole #13 (hole 13) All Square: Clark hits a great drive to the middle of the fairway. Nelson cuts off a little more and it ends up short of Clark's and in the right bunker next to the river. Nelson hits a fair approach from 120 leaving himself a 60 foot putt for birdie. Clark hits his approach to within 15 feet of the hole. Nelson 2 putted for par. Clark just misses his birdie putt and his par putt is conceded.

Hole #12 (hole 12) All Square: Nelson's hooked his drive into the water. Clark drove the ball to the right side of the fairway and it rolled just in the rough. Nelson then takes his drop in front of all the tee boxes just short of the water and he hits his next shot to the fairway about 120 yards out from the green. Both players hit great approaches onto the green, both within 12 feet of the hole. Nelson makes his putt for bogey and Clark just misses his birdie putt and scores par on this hole.

Hole #11 (hole 11) Nelson 1Up: Both players hit great drives to the fairway. they are both about 350 yards from the green. Both players then hit lay-up shots in fairway about 130 yards out. Nelson hit his approach shot about 2 feet from the flag. Clark hits his approach shot about 12 feet from the flag, he then makes the putt for birdie. Clark gives the putt to Nelson and the hole is tied.

Hole #10 (hole 10) Nelson 1Up: Clark hits a perfect drive down the middle of the fairway. Nelson's drive finds the left side bunker but he hits a great shot to the green to about 10' feet from the hole. Clark hits his approach shot that ends up in the grass bunker just left of the hole. Clark chips and runs past the hole 8 feet. Nelson's birdie putt misses the hole and finishes with 4 feet from the hole. Clark misses his par putt and Nelson makes his to win the hole.

Hole #9 (hole 9) All Square: Nelson hits his drive to the right side of the fairway, Clark's drive ends just in the rough on the right. Clark hits a great approach shot to 15 feet of the hole, Nelson then hits a good approach shot and is 20 feet from the hole that is cut on the front right of the green. Clark lags his birdie putt to 6" for a gimmie par as did Nelson. Both par the hole.

Hole #8 (hole 8) All Square: Both players cut the corner on their drives. Nelson's ball ends up in the rough to the right of the fairway, Clark is in the fairway. Nelson hits a great approach shot and makes birdie to win the hole. Clark pars the hole.

Hole #7 (hole 7) Clark 1Up: Both players hit good tee shots that end within 30 feet of the hole right beside each other. Both players then 2 putt for par.

Hole #6 (hole 6) Clark 1Up: Clark hit a good drive that bounces left into the grass bunker left of the fairway, about 175 from hole. Nelson hits a great drive on the same line that bounces straight and ends 150 yards out and in the fairway. Clark hits a good approach shot to 20 feet from the hole. Nelson then hits a better shot and found himself looking at a 15 foot putt. Nelson putted 4 feet past the hole, made his 4 footer for par. Clark 2 putted... both players scored a par.

Hole #5 (hole 5) Clark 1Up: Both had long drives, 300 yards from the green and in the fairway. Both players hit lay-up shots to within 35 yards of the green and within a sneeze of each other. Nelson hits his approach shot within 8 feet of the hole and Clark hits his within 10 feet. Clark just misses his birdie putt and has a tap in for par, Nelson misses his birdie putt leaving himself a tricky 3 footer for par. He calmly makes this putt for his par.

Hole #4 (hole4) Clark 1Up: Both players hit their shots onto the green about 30 feet from the hole. Both two putt for par.

Hole #3 (hole 3) Clark 1Up: Clark hits a fantastic drive that ended up just right of the green. Nelson hits a lay-up shot into the fairway. He then nearly shanks his approach shot to the right that ends up behind a bush. Having little option, he then concedes the hole to Clark.

Hole #2 (hole 2) All Square: Both Clark and Nelson hit large drives to the middle of the fairway. Nelson then hit his 2nd shot onto the green about 40 feet from the hole. Clark left his 2nd shot just short and left of the green. Clark then made a nice chip, and sank his putt for birdie 4. Nelson 2 putted for birdie and they tie the hole.

Hole #1 (hole 1) All Square: Nelson and Clark hit great tee shots into the middle of fairway. They then both hit great approach shots within 10 feet of the hole. Each player made their birdie putts.
