UVU Men’s Golf: Utah Valley Finishes 16th at Bandon Dunes Championship

BANDON, Ore.—Blair Bursey led the Utah Valley University men's golf team with a three-round score of 4-over-par 220 to finish in a tie for 30th in the 90-player field at the Bandon Dunes Championship on Tuesday at the Old MacDonald golf course at Bandon Dunes Resort. The Wolverines finished 16th with a score of 48-over-par 912 (297-304-311).
 
The Wolverines finished 16th just five strokes behind host Gonzaga (+43) for the 15th spot. Oregon won the team title with a three-round score of 28-under-par 836 (275-285-276).
 
Bursey carded a 5-over-par 77 in Tuesday's final round to finish the tournament with a three-round score of 4-over-par 220 (70-73-77). Bursey was the defending individual champion at the tournament.
 
Cedric Laverdure registered a final-round 6-over-par 78 on Tuesday to finish in a tie for 66th with a three-round score of 13-over-par 229 (74-77-78). JT Timmons also carded a 6-over-par 78 in the final round to tie for the 73rd spot on the leaderboard with a three-day total of 15-over-par 231 (77-76-78).
 
Gabe Lysen wrapped up play on Tuesday with a final-round score of 6-over-par 78 to finish in a tie for 77th with a three-round 17-over-par 233 (76-79-78). Ariel Elftman-Hanson rounded out the UVU scoring with a 10-over-par 82 in the final round to finish tied for 84th with a three-round score of 22-over-par 238 (78-78-82).
 
Utah Valley will continue spring play at the Grand Canyon Invitational, March 16-18, at the GCU golf course in Phoenix, Ariz
