Utah Valley finishes 16th at Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational

PRINCEVILLE, Hawaii—The Utah Valley University men's golf team shot an even par 288 on Tuesday at the Makai Golf Club to finish 16th in the 19-team field at the Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational with a three-day score of 22-over-par 886 (303-295-288).
 
The Wolverines shot the fifth-best team score of the day on Tuesday (288), finishing in 16th place ahead of tournament host Hawaii, Idaho and UC Irvine. Mississippi won the tournament with a three-round score of 33-under-par 831 (277-276-278).
 
Blair Bursey led the Wolverines with a three-round score of 2-under-par 214 (66-76-72) to finish in a tie for 16th. Bursey wrapped up the tournament on Tuesday with a final-round even par 72.
 
JT Timmons shot an impressive 2-under-par 70 on Tuesday to move up 25 spots on the leaderboard. The senior finished in a tie for 28th with a three-round score of 2-over-par 218 (75-73-70).
 
Ariel Elftman-Hanson also went under par in the final round, carding a 1-under-par 70 to move up 16 spots on the leaderboard. The sophomore tied for 52nd with a three-round 6-over-par 222 (79-72-71).
 
Cedric Laverdure played the tournament as an individual, finishing in a tie for 75th with a three-round score of 13-over-par 229 (79-73-77). Laverdure carded a final-round 5-over-par 77 on Tuesday.
 
Gabe Lysen tied for 93rd with a three-round score of 19-over-par 235 (85-74-76). Payton Stott rounded out the scoring with a three-day 20-over-par 236 (83-78-75) to finish in a tie for 96th.
 
The tournament wraps up UVU's fall slate. The Wolverines will open the spring schedule at the SUU Pat Hicks Invitational, Feb. 13-14, at Sunbrook Golf Club in St. George.
