By: Jason Erickson, UVU Athletics Assistant Director of Communications

DENVER—Utah Valley's JT Timmons has been named the Western Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the Week for the week of Feb. 1 through Feb. 7.

“Timmons had a great final round on Tuesday and deserves the honor,” said Utah Valley head coach Chris Curran. “He played like a senior should.”

Timmons, a senior from Holladay, Utah (Olympus HS), led the Wolverines to the team title at the Pizza Hut Pat Hicks Invitational in St. George, Utah. Timmons shot a two-round score of 6-under-par 138 to finish in a tie for third place among 77 golfers at the tournament.  After shooting an even-par 72 in round one, Timmons shot the lowest second round score of the tournament with an impressive 6-under-par 66. UVU finished ahead of 11 other schools for the team title, which the Wolverines also claimed last season.

Timmons and the rest of the UVU golfers return to action on Feb. 25 at the Loyola Intercollegiate at Palm Valley golf course in Goodyear, Ariz
