CEDAR CITY, Utah – The Southern Utah men’s golf program has signed Tyler Jones to a National Letter of Intent.

Jones comes to SUU from Lone Peak High School, where him and his team claimed the state title four years in a row. He shot five-under at the 5A High School State Championships, which earned him the title of First Team All-State.

He represented Utah in the Eddie Hogan Cup, which was played in Portland, Oregon, at the Riverside Country Club. He was able to finish in seventh place at that event. He also competed in the Cache Valley Amateur where he finished in sixth place.

Jones also took second place in his region during his senior year.

“We’re excited to be able to bring Tyler in, and we look forward to seeing what he’s able to do when he gets here,” SUU head coach Richard Church said.

Jones plans on serving a mission for the LDS Church before enrolling in school and competing for Southern Utah University. Jones' parents are Clark and Angie.
