2016 Utah Senior Open Champion Steve Schneiter defended his title by posting a final-round score of nine-under 135 at Toana Vista Golf Course in Wendover, Nevada, to break away from first-round co-leaders Kim Thompson and Eric Nielsen and earn the Professional Championship division victory.

Schneiter played a bogey-free final round that included a birdie on the first hole of the day and four more in a row on the front to shoot 31 (-5). He never slowed down on the back nine. Steve eagled No. 10 coming in and birdied 17 to card three-under 33 to conclude the tournament and secure his back-to-back Utah Senior Open triumph.

Steven Poulson was the low amateur in the Championship division at 67-71—138. Poulson was in it from the start after trailing Round 1 leader Kirk Siddens by only one stroke. Poulson made eight birdies during the first round to start the two-day event strong. With an even-par 36 going out and one under coming in, Poulson clinched the amateur victory by one stroke over Guy Child.
