Theodore shoots 71 at Mountain Dell Qualifying
All other players in the field were over par and the score of 76 and better qualified for the State Am in July at Thanksgiving Point.
For the most part it was a windy day and the higher holes on the mountain course were difficult to manage. The the narrow 15th hole with thick rough on both sides was particularly troublesome and ate up balls and State Am dreams for many players. The hole scoring average was just shy of double bogey.
The 14th hole was also tough, averaging a score of bogey for the day.
Theodore whipped through the course with little trouble. He bogied only two and 18, and in between he birdied 10, 11, and 17 to card the only score better than par.
The pace of play was very good despite 15 to 20 minute delays on the 15th hole. Only three groups were penalized for exceeding the four and a half hour time limit.
