The final Championship Division match between Dana Nelson and Ron Davis was a nail biter from start to finish. The equally exciting competitors demonstrated their unmatched skill level with every crucial shot, heightening the intensity every step of the way to victory.

Their match was all square through the first four holes before Ron Davis finally went one up on Nelson with a birdie on the fifth hole. Nelson fired back with a par over Davis’ bogey on No. 6, returning the match to all square. It wasn’t until the thirteenth hole that Nelson gained the biggest lead of the match by going two up. Of course, Davis put the heat on Nelson by winning the next two holes.  Nelson felt the pressure and shanked his approach shot on the par 4 No. 16; nevertheless, his impressive recovery for bogey and a three putt by Davis kept the match all square. A couple of pars on seventeen carried the match to the eighteenth hole, and Dana Nelson’s smooth par over Davis’ bogey earned him the one-up triumph.

In the Super Senior Division, Steve Brinton brought his “A” game all week. Doug Marriott put up a good fight, but even his level of expertise was no match for Brinton. Through nine holes, Brinton was three up over Marriott and then went four up with a par on the tenth hole. Marriott tried to catch him by winning the eleventh and fourteenth holes, but Brinton remained consistent and won the match 3 and 2 to become the Super Senior champion.

The Net Division match between Dean Bond and Mark Howard was back and forth all day. Bond finally permanently pulled ahead after winning hole No. 12, and after making pars on fourteen and fifteen, Bond was able to widen the gap to go three up over Howard and won the final match 3 and 1.
