The Rose Park (AM) Utah State Amateur Qualifier ended similarly to the Rose Park (PM) Qualifier one day earlier. Like Rose Park (PM), nearly half of those who qualified posted red numbers. Ten of the 26 who advanced finished under par, with 75 (+3) making the cut.

It was Denny Job who ended up solo at the top of the leader board after posting a five-under 67. Job made only one bogey on the front nine and was bogey free on the back. He birdied holes 2, 6 and 7 to card 34 (-2) going out and holes 10, 14 and 18 for a 33 (-3) coming in to finish with a bang.

In a five-way, sudden-death playoff starting on No. 10 for the final qualifying spot and the first and second alternates, Tyce Welling closed out his opponents by making birdie on the first hole to advance. Michael Corley clinched the first alternate spot by making par on the first playoff hole. The remaining two competitors who made bogey on No. 10, Matt Pehrson and Curtis Sampson, moved on to their second playoff hole. With a par on Rose Park’s par-3 No. 11, Pehrson survived the tiebreaker as the second alternate.
