Davis, Lloyd Tie for Medalist at Utah Senior State Am SLC Qualifier

Ron Davis and Rick Lloyd secured their spots in the 2017 Utah Senior State Amateur SLC Qualifier at The Ridge Golf Club in West Valley City. Davis and Lloyd carded rounds of three-under 69 to earn the co-medalist title and advance to the championship June 5-7 at Jeremy Ranch (day 1), Tuhaye (day 2) and Glenwild (day 3).
Davis posted even-par 36 on the front nine and three-under 33 on the back. A birdie on 13 and an eagle on 14 placed him in a good position moving on to his last four holes. Lloyd was one under going out and two under coming in to clinch the victory. Thirteen players qualified from the Championship Division.

In the Super Senior Division, Michael Smith carded a 75 (+3) to earn the division title by one stroke over David Fischer and advance to the three-day championship. Smith finished his round with a 35 on the front and a 40 on the back. Five Super Seniors qualified.

Scott Walker claimed the Net Division title at seven-under 65. He posted a 39 on the front and a 38 on the back to win by two strokes over Mark Monsen. Six players in the Net Division advanced.
