Concepcion Shoots 66 to Earn Medalist Honors at Carbon Utah State Am Qualifying

Fidel Concepcion shot four-under-par 66 at Carbon Country Club in Helper, Utah, to claim the title of medalist by three strokes and earn a spot to play in the 118th Utah State Amateur Championship.
“I played consistent golf today. I hit almost every green and had a few big putts drop, which really helped me shoot the 66,” said Concepcion. “I felt confident with my putter all day and made a 30-footer on eleven to birdie.”
The Southern Utah University athlete from Sydney, Australia, shot one-under 34 on the front nine with birdies on Nos. 7 and 9 and three-under 32 on the back with birdies on Nos. 10, 11, 13, and 14.
“This is my first year playing in the Utah State Amateur. I’ve never played Fox Hollow or Alpine Country Club, so I’m really looking forward to it.”
